My name is Ashlyn Gehrett, and I'm a photographer and visual designer currently living in Seattle, WA.
I've been seriously shooting photos since 2002, though I will admit to the youthful camera-tilting and taking pictures of one's shoes. I shoot with a digital Canon SLR and very much enjoy learning new equipment and experimenting with different setups to create the perfect photo.
During my senior year (2009-2010) at the University of Oregon I was on the staff of Flux Magazine, an award-winning UO Journalism School publication. I was Department Editor for our website, Business Manager for the print edition, and a contributing photographer throughout the year.
I have a myriad of visual arts talents and experience, including visual design and painting. Much of my varied talent has helped me to see the world a little differently and capture it through a lens. I currently work with product photography for the web as part of my "day job" and pursue new photographic opportunities in my free time.
My passion is capturing people's lives and personalities in a single frame that they and their loved ones can treasure for years to come. I believe a single image communicates so much more than words, and I love working with people from behind the camera. Visit my contact page for more information if you are have a project in mind!
